Why should I get individual dental insurance?

Without consistent care, several oral health problems can result. Immediate risks include gingivitis, cavities, tooth decay, and other gum diseases which can eventually result in oral cancer. This �silent epidemic� (U.S. Surgeon General) can be avoided by regular treatment at home and dental visits twice each year.

What does it cover?

The recommended DentalQUICK Plus Major Coverage Plan immediately covers up to $1,500 per insured per calendar year based upon a fee schedule. The Plus Major Coverage Plan also includes a preventative benefit of $100 per insured every 150 days (max $200 per year).

What is the deductible?

The plan has a $0 deductible.

When is it effective?

Normally next business day depending on state. Applications filed 27th-31st of the month become effective on the 1st of the following month. Actual effetive date is assigned by carrier and included in your confirmation email from Assurant.

What does it cover for cleanings?

Plan level 1 pays up to $75 for preventive care, maximum of 2 visits per year per insured. Plan Level 2 and 3 pays up to $100 for preventive care with a max of 2 visits per year per insured.

What if I have other dental coverage?

This plan pays in addition to any other plan. Assurant Supplemental Coverage dental insurance offered by DentalQUICK is exempt from coordination of benefits limitations (Texas Insurance Code - Section 1203.002). This means you do not list it as secondary insurance when filing with other dental plans.

Where can I use DentalQUICK?

Assurant Supplemental Coverage Dental Insurance offered by DentalQUICK is insurance coverage you can use at any dentist. You can go to any dentist you choose. Dentists do not have to join a network, and there are no negotiated fees.

There is no waiting period and coverage limits increase over time. Cleanings are covered. There are no credit checks or deductibles. The insurance offered through DentalQuick gives you the quickest benefits at any dentist's office.

What about those Dental Discount Cards and Plans?

Dental plans work by convincing certain dentists to reduce their costs for plan members. Dental plan companies offer referrals to certain dentists. In exchange, dentists lower their costs for the patients who are referred to them by a plan company. You must first find a dentist that is contracted by these plans, and then you have to be prepared for what is not covered under the negotiated fees.

With discount plans your benefits never increase. You are still expected to pay for your visit up front, and may have to wait for your insurance to start. You pay the discounted price, but this can still leave you stuck if something really bad happens. If you are planning on buying a dental discount plan, it's very important to read the fine print.

Is it safe to apply electronically?

Texas requires that a documented-acknowledgement be obtained for a customer's purchase of an insurance product by form of customer's written or electronic signature or recorded voice.
